II) PerfectPower Weighing

Date: Tue 31102023

Location: France - 91

Note: Weighing with half of the tank (31.5 L)

1550 kg = 3417 lb

Note: Mass recalculated with full tank = 1574 kg (3470 lb)

1) Power - 31102023

Date: Tue 31102023

Location: France - 91

Car configuration: Optimization of the mapping by David and Vincent (PerfectPower group)

Software: PerfectPower Androïd 6.1.5 (new version)

Hardware: Xiaomi MI 8 + RaceBox Mini 25 Hz driven by PerfectPower

Report: Two measurements performed for the validation of the results of each map tested (sometimes 4 in case of doubt due to random wind):

- With 3 people on board (Stephane & Vincent & David) and with half of the tank (31.5 L)

- In 2nd gear from 2000 to 8200 rpm (rev limiter)

- With the use of the WIXGEAR universal magnetic windshield mount according to the strict recommendation of PerfectPower for the most accurate measurements possible

- In both directions of the road then averaging of these two measurements according to the strict recommendation of PerfectPower in order to eliminate the effects of road slope and wind (road used almost flat, 2 hp difference between the two directions... when the wind was not blowing!)

A) Final Map V7

Official Result = Average of the two measurements

Note: Vincent and I would like to emphasize the excellent results of this M3 E46 only equipped with a Venturi effect airbox that we had never tested and of which we therefore do not know the gain (the injectors and the pump are mainly an adaptation necessary for the ethanol conversion), and having an engine totaling... 260,000 km (admittedly redone at 180,000 km)! Knowing that the very best BMW M3 E46s come out around 335 hp 100% original and that the average is rather around 325, we can conclude as I said with humor (AND caricature!) to Stephane its owner that or it has an exceptional engine and the airbox brings nothing, or it has a standard engine and the airbox brings a phenomenal gain!

B) Comparison BEFORE (Map V4) / AFTER (Final Map V7)

Official results of each map

Note 1: This comparison actually shows the results of three states and not two:

Map V4 (white curves) = Map with optimized injection

Map V7 (red curves) = Map with optimized injection and ignition

Final Map V7 (green curves) = Map V7 (red curves) slightly restricted on ignition advances for engine protection (260,000 km AND track use !!!)

Note 2: As mentioned in note 1, Map V4 is not a starting map, it is a map already optimized on the injection settings! Vincent and I who have years of experience on these engines (we have adjusted dozens of them) do not need to carry out PerfectPower measurements to optimize injection, so we only start them afterwards.
